I thought only industry insiders voted for The Reuben Sturman Award.

Hideki Matsui, Most Valuable Player in the 2009 World Series, and his former manager Shigeo Nagashima received Japan’s People’s Honor awards at a ceremony today in Tokyo, public broadcaster NHK reported.

Giants are the champions of NPB, MLB, and NFL. This is one of those odd serendipitous things, kind of like both of the major sports teams in Baltimore formerly being named the Browns.

Giants are the champions of NPB, MLB, and NFL. This is one of those odd serendipitous things, kind of like both of the major sports teams in Baltimore formerly being named the Browns.

Sadly, the AZL Giants, San Jose Giants, Korea's Lotte Giants, the WHL's Vancouver Giants, the Greater Western Sydney FC Giants, the Belfast Giants and Huddersfield Giants are not reigning champions. However, the Jacksonville Giants of the minor league basketball ABA are reigning champions!

which is kind of the opposite of what happened in the 50s--the Giants won the Japanese series every year from 51 to 55, EXCEPT 1954...
