also a failure of the waist
Failure of the waist is an awesome euphemism for being fat.
So much for wanting to be close to Cincinnati, unless he intends to tunnel his way from Japan to Ohio.
If you have the right attitude, this could be a pretty cool 1 or 2 year adventure. Youk made some decent money ($56 million.. really better than decent) during his career. Whatever money he makes in Japan is whatever, but if his kids get a really cool cultural experience for free (with a rich dad), it's kind of cool.
 is gold.
Except that a wok is Chinese, not Japanese. In Japan, it's known as a "Chinese pot".
I have the same thoughts. With the exception of the one I was born in, Japan is the country in the world I most admire, and the one I most identify with. Probably 75% of the popular culture I consume (music, TV shows, movies, books, manga, etc.), and much of the food I eat, is Japanese. Given the chance to work there for a year, and provided with an interpreter, housing, etc., as I'm sure Youk will be, I'd jump at the chance.
Now he's The Greek God of the Japanese word for "Chinese pot".
4 million is exactly what they paid Tanaka. Guess who is going to be posted
but is youkilis in the conversation for the biggest name to go over to the japanese league?
Iverson played (badly) in Turkey just recently.
It's amazing how athletes' records in other countries are just ignored here. It wasn't until like last year that I noticed Dominique Wilkins spent a year in Greece.
Deron Williams played in Turkey even more recently (during last season's lockout) and performed so well that Besiktas retired his jersey.
Now he's the Greek God of Woks.
I don't know if he gets nonsensical words in the Latin alphabet tattooed, however.
