I really don't get the appeal of autographs. Only an expert knows if they're real or not, and what does it signify? That some ballplayer scribbled his name?

On another note, has anyone seen the show "Ball Boys"? I think its an ABC show, it airs weekday afternoons, it may be syndicated. Its like Pawn Stars for sports memorabilia. Frankly, I didn't know such places still existed anymore, but it is interesting to see how the store hustles for memorabilia.

So for $50, you get a voice mail and a copy of an autograph. Because those two things have value.

Didn't MLB and DirecTV have some promo a few years back where you could get a pre-recorded voice mail from a player? I had 'David Ortiz' call my brother like 20 times a day. He wasn't particularly amused.

Yeah, a personalized voicemail message from a MLB star of your choice would easily be worth $50.

Spent a few minutes on the website. While I don't know whether it will take off (a digital autograph is fundamentally different from a non-digital one, IMO), the site and business model seem fairly well executed.
