John Kling, baseball catcher, today mailed a letter to president Herrmann, of the Cincinnati National league baseball club…Kling in the letter, admitted he signed a contract, but insisted he did it with a distinct understanding that the contract would not be binding unless Kling’s local business partner agreed to his leaving [Kansas City].
