Both Haddix and pedro got dudded out of perfectos. Hey, they went the 9, 27 up, 27 down, not their fault their teams couldn't score.
The record for a relief pitcher is 41 straight, set by Bobby Jenks in 2007.
Eh, I don't really like the rules as they are now. Both Haddix and pedro got dudded out of perfectos. Hey, they went the 9, 27 up, 27 down, not their fault their teams couldn't score.
I'm more bothered by the guys like Matt Young and David Palmer who DID throw no hitters but aren't credited with them any longer. Yeah it sucks for Haddix and Pedro but they did give up hits. Young and Palmer pitched complete games, they didn't allow a hit, that's a no hitter and should be counted as such. Every game is something, most are combined 8 hitters or something like that but there is no way to record what Young, Palmer or Andy Hawkins did without recording it as a no hitter.
