Milwaukee Journal, February 5, 1913:
The Louisville club has refused to accept Larry McLean. The owners say they are located too near the distillery district.
Probably a good move.
McLean split time between the Cardinals and Giants in 1913 and played extremely well for an alcoholic backup catcher, hitting .286/.316/.344 (89 OPS+). He was one of the heroes of the Giants’ 1913 (losing) World Series effort and stuck around in New York through 1915.
