Bob Costas is often evangelical at odd times. His recent ill-timed (if not illogical) remarks about gun control felt like something reserved for the Huffington Post — not the goal post — where he was broadcasting a football game. Now his increasingly throaty, theatrical bent led him to say that the Mets’ celebration after Sunday’s victory was a sign of the “end of Western Civilization.”

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said in 2011 that the Mets “abused” Feliciano by relying on him to pitch constantly.

And knowing the Mets "abused" Feliciano, Cashman signed him to a two year contract.

Pretty sweet for Mets fans - send in a mole to burn $4 million a year off the Yankees payroll, then steal him back after the last detonator cap has fired.

He will be remembered as fondly as Ryan Madson was in Cincinnati, El Duque with the Expos, or Pokey Reese with the Mariners.

These guys need to learn to follow the example of Juan Guzman with the Rays and put in a better effort to live up to their contracts.
