What does the writer expect them to do? There are no free agents, so anything you get is in trade, and considering the goal has been to build for the future, you don't mortgage that for a slim chance at competing this year.
Does the front office, for example, think there is still a star player inside Matt Kemp as long as he is liberated from the Dodgers?
There is nothing about this team more troubling than Wright's .395 slugging percentage.
