Adam Everett retired today. What's the difference between these two?
I'm sure Adam Everett was a great glove man who had a good career. When you're trying to think of which of the interchangeable white middle infielders to sign, guys who look like ugly chipmunks stick out a lot more than guys who don't. I couldn't pick Adam Everett out of a police lineup.
The one thing I mostly remember about Adam Everett is that after Troy Tulowitzki's rookie season, some smart guy around here playing around with stats argued that Tulo was really about the same player as Everett.
The main difference is Everett just can't stay healthy (only 150 PA combined the last 2 years) and the injuries seem to have sapped his defensive abilities. Fragile, no-hit, average or worse defense is not an attractive combo. Still mildly surprised Colletti didn't bring in at least one of these guys to join his 2006 All-Stars.

Two years of age, one All-Star game, and eleven points of career OPS+?
It is quite possible I've been confusing Adam Everett and Jack Wilson for years.

Jack Wilson is the one who looks like my high school friend Mike Sands. And he was the one who was on the Pirates for 8 1/2 years.
