Ben's a friend and a genuinely very nice guy. Know it was very tough for him. He said he was going to write about it this morning. I'll post it when I see it.
I'll never cease to be amazed by the need for people to stop whatever they are doing and send text messages to people who can do absolutely nothing for them during disasters and dangerous events.
You know you can always text, "Shots were fired at the mall I worked at 30 minutes ago. Got out safe."

there have been major problem in NYC skyscraper evacuations (both real and drills) with people texting/tweeting all the way down in the stairwells, and clogging up the escape route for others.
It's so mind bogglingly stupid, but some day, people (maybe a lot of them) are going to die b/c some jackasses can't keep their hands off a keyboard for 15 minutes.

I'd like to think I'd be smart and courageous enough to do that.
