FWIW, I saw both Waters and the Boss this past year -- and I gotta say, concerts at Wrigley are a lot of fun. In particular, I did a lot of horse trading with my Boss tix in order to get down onto the field and that was really cool... the field seats were on a platform and they had tarps over most of the field, but there were spots uncovered.

I know you can take tours of Wrigley and get onto the playing field, but milling around before the show started, it was really neat to walk over to the lip of the infield... I even got a security guy posted there to let me briefly step over the fencing they had up so I could stand at SS for a moment. Follow that up with a kick-ass Bruce set - the last 30 minutes in a driving rain: A most excellent evening.

I think I'd be more excited about walking on to the field than I would be for any of the music that's played at Wrigley shows. Of course, that's not a very high bar, since my interest in any of the music is essentially nil. Everybody seems to have fun at them, though.

The Wall was more a theater spectacle than a concert, but Springsteen just flat out puts on a great rock show... no breaks, no intermission, just 2 1/2 hours of pure energy. Even if I wasn't a fan - I think anyone would be well-advised to see live at least once. Most mainstream acts in big venues do suck, but he's got this amazing ability to just shrink a venue.

I saw Elton John/Billy Joel back whenever they played Wrigley. Not much of a fan of either artist, but I got the tickets for free. The show was fine except for some reason Billy Joel brought out a flyswatter onto the stage to swat at fake flies. I did not get that.

The only other Wrigley concert I was interested in seeing was Paul McCartney, but I ended up getting tickets for my parents. A while back there were rumors of Radiohead coming to Wrigley- I'd definitely like to see that.

That I wouldn't mind seeing, but mostly because the only other time I saw Radiohead, last summer in Tinley Park, I couldn't actually see anything.

McCartney put on a great show. 3 hours, no break. I lived a block away when he played, so I got to listen from my back porch for the Sunday show and went to the Monday show. Absolutely worth it.

Three hours plus was the standard Springsteen show back in the day, glad to know that he still has the energy level to do that. I remember one show where the encore was 40-45 minutes. Ah, sweet youth.
