The disarray in the Nationals’ bullpen reached a bizarre and self-inflicted new height Monday night. After the Nationals’ 8-0 loss to the Giants, Manager Davey Johnson revealed that set-up man Ryan Mattheus had broken his right hand Sunday when he punched his locker after a dreadful performance, landing him on the disabled list and leaving the Nationals scrambling for fresh arms.

Detwiler just threw his best game of the season tonight, incidentally. Maybe HE'S the one who will take the award in August.
8-6 record will do that. The Nats just don't score runs when he is pitching. He hasn't pitched a game yet this season in which he pitched so poorly that he gave his team virtually no chance to win. I think his worst outing was the one in May in which he gave up 4 runs in 5 or 6 innings.
When the playoffs start we want Jordan as our #1; Gio our #2 and either Jackson or Detwiler as our #3.
Detwiler is really comming on this past month; he may be our go to guy when Strasburg sits come September.
What an embarrassment of riches on a team that 2 years ago had Lannan and Livo and 3 guys named Moe
One of those guys was just Livan with a fake goatee.
