If JE gets out of his Turkish prison in time, we will consider letting him play shortstop and making him honorary Jeter for the day. (Gift basket not included)
Why wouldn't I drive?
So who's entertaining me all of this time?
Also, Jason Epstein, I was referring to my hardball league - though it sounds now like you live in DC so you're probably a no-go for a hardball league in Queens.
How does next Saturday (27th) sound for batting cage/game of catch?
Please tell me this is a 10K with everyone carrying swords. Or a D&D set
Are you a scotch or beer man? Do you like classic video games? Cheeses? German food? Belgian food/beer? I'm game for anything but nudie bars. My record for avoiding the depressing wallows that are strip clubs remains perfect!
Your only title is third best player among the choral singers on the field.
Make the reservations. I like steak.
Singers don't sit in chairs while performing, swamp boy.
Don't let me dissuade you from Peter Luger's, though. It's a bit over-hyped but it's still pretty great. My feelings will not be hurt if you choose to go there.
Why won't someone just tell me where to go?! I need direction, people.
Do you play tennis?
That will help since the rest of us will obviously be wearing Pavement t-shirts.
I don't actually own a Pavement t-shirt, but I may have to pick one up for the occasion!
EDIT: North Meadow is closer to the East Side. If we go for drinks or something social after, walking to 3rd or 2nd might be more convenient than going to (I dunno) Columbus.
I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, ####-kickers and Methodists.
Perhaps those who are so inclined could provide their first names in this thread, so we can match their first names with their handles? It was a bit difficult a couple years ago to get a sense of who was who. "I'm Billy Bob." "Oh." "Screen name Johnny Thunder!!!" "Okay..."
If you expect all these broken down old geeks to walk from Central Park to 2nd Avenue after the softball game, you're insane.
In fairness, I thought we were first going to Sam's hotel suite to shower, change, and enjoy a few drinks.
