    The only real bit of Paige's motion is at :50, and he actually looks pretty damn good as far as arm speed and ball leaving the hand. It doesn't seem sped up in frame rate.

    I have told this story before, but I saw Satchel pitch many times in the 1960's. I went to a lot of Cubs games and when he was a coach for the Atlanta Braves he warmed up in the bullpen every game. If I remember correctly, the Braves hired him so that he could get a major league pension. Also, although he was not on the active roster allegedly he thought (or so the newspapers reported) he was going to come into every game he warmed up for.

    The quality of the film seems unusally good--everything is clear and defined. Of course, it was taken by a pro. Is the older man that is shown a number of times Louis B. Mayer? Looks like him.
