Have been reading Tim Marchman for years, a big fan. Not seeing this one, much as I’d like to!

I think the tribute should begin with a long slow-motion shot of Reyes sitting on the bench after taking himself out of the game to preserve his batting title.

I posted this mostly because I was surprised that Cerrone and his buddy were so against it.

Reyes walked because the Mets didn't want to pay him -- not to mention that they suck and have been an absolute embarrassment.

How on earth is that a) any reason to boo Reyes or b) not look fondly back on the nine great years he gave the team?

Didn't want to pay him and apparently didn't make him an offer.

Reyes missed the equivalent of two full seasons out of nine. Gave the team 29 WAR, is in the Top 10 for the franchise in hits, SB, runs, and many other categories. Not sayin' they should retire his number, but one short video montage can't hurt.

This also points up the fact that, from a franchise legacy perspective, the Mets really, really should keep Wright.

I could see doing this at the end of a career, but a video tribute to a player who is now playing for the opposition, and in the prime of his career, doesn't seem appropriate to me. If I were a Mets fan, I wouldn't be cheering this video as it plays.

In other words, you don't want the Mets to pull a Harold Baines with Reyes.
