If it screws with the season at all, I just as soon the Olympics and the IOC go f#ck themselves.

One game I play against myself when I see a new link on Hot Topics is: Repoz or Gamingboy? I'm usually around 90% when it comes to guessing who linked it to Primer. I'm not sure why I'm posting that on this particular thread other than I guessed correctly before clicking on it.

Curtis Granderson is the best person in Baseball. But I doubt that even he is a good enough guy to make the Old, White, European Snobby Aristocrat Males (OWESAMs)in the IOC to put Baseball in.

The Special One will tell them he's Barack Obama. I imagine the OWESAMs can't tell the difference, as all black guys from Chicago look the same to them.

You think it is me if it involves injuries or crimes of an unusual nature, fan incidents, the World Baseball Classic (or other international baseball events), the futility of the Baltimore Orioles, "Biz of Baseball" article, an Onion article, or similiar minutia. Oh, and if it has the words "of DOOM" in it.

It's Repoz if it is actually something substantial or involves somebody bashing the statistical view of Baseball.

Because that is roughly how I understand it.

It's mainly the international stuff or news of the weird for you. If it's a link to some hack, I assume it's Repoz. There are some other wells that he likes to go to as well. I know that he reads 38 Pitches, for example. The rest is guesswork.

Does anyone know the identities and countries of the IOC directors if there is one? I imagined it a bit UN-like, plenty of people with $ and power from countries that never make the US news such as Nigeria, Azerbijan or Malaysia that don't play baseball.

Why does baseball even care?

Because it's by far baseball's best avenue to expand into other countries. Most NOCs are government funded, with their constituent federations getting funded by the NOC. Baseball on the outside looking in has no chance of getting much funding in non-baseball countries; meanwhile if they do get funding, they get at least some money.

I was rather, er, upset when baseball (and softball, don't forget) was taken from the Olympics by the cheese-eating surrender monkeys who run the IOC. Since then, though, I've come to this conclusion:

Baseball's too good for the Olympics. Screw 'em.
