When you give a six-time Gold Glover the weekend off, that tells you how good he's become with the bat, and how important he is to the Cardinals.
Billy Hamilton with his 2nd home run of the year! over the wall and everything!
Then the Mariners scored 5 runs thanks to the Murderer's Row of Brad Miller, Willie Bloomquist, Endy Chavez, and James Jones.
Manny Machado and Oakland's pitcher apparently got into a rather ugly little dust-up. There are going to be suspensions coming out of that game I think.
What's going on with the Cardinals? I knew they'd been struggling but I didn't realize they were only barely over .500. I like it, as it keeps the Pirates very much in that thing, but I don't follow the Cardinals closely enough to understand why they're underachieving so far.
It makes me so angry I don't even care about ending that sentence with a preposition.
I wonder what the all-time best run differential for a season is.
The experience of being an A's fan is pretty ridiculous this year. The A's now have a +128 run differential. The Blue Jays, Angels, Mariners and Tigers are the only other teams in the league with a positive differential -- their combined differential is +114.
Machado threw his bat at the pitcher. He is out of control.
re # 54, Jordan Zimmermann finished with a complete-game, 2-hit shutout, striking out 12, with no walks, and according to MASN, never went to a 3-ball count. Pretty darn good.
He's being an extremely big baby about that tag from yesterday.
some guy named Daryl Spencer has 13 in 1967....never even heard of him)
