Happiness: finally being able to watch the Battle of the Beltways games on television without having to mute the TV so I don't have to listen to Jim Hunter!
. . . a fan caught napping on camera during a recent Yankees-Red Sox game is suing ESPN for defamation for its coverage of his power nap. More specifically, 26-year-old Andrew Rector is seeking $10 million in damages from ESPN because the network’s cameras caught Rector snoozing in the stands and, according to the complaint, “opened an unending verbal crusade against the napping plaintiff.”
Votto has a pulled quad. It's the same injury that DL'ed him earlier in the year. At the time they said he wouldn't be 100% all year. Now it looks as if he came back way to early as he's looked awful in his return (As in Billy Hamilton has about the same slugging percentage). The Reds are hoping he doesn't have to go on the DL again. Right now he's day to day. My bet is that they'll try to ride it through the All Star break and see what he looks like then
Also, why isn't Matt Adams going to the ASG again???
Hunter Pence typically looks like a guy who can't remember if he left his gas stove burners on at home.
Of course, I have promoted the idea of stealing from the NHL where you have a 28 man roster, and each series you are required to make 3 "healthy" scratches, this would eliminate the riskiness of this particular move.
love triples. And Billy Hamilton. And especially when Billy Hamilton hits triples.
(Stand-up triples. On ground balls.)
