Game Notes: No one expects Aaron Harang to finish the season with a sub-1.00 ERA.
Game Notes: The numbers look good for this one, but it's hard to expect a great pitching matchup in Colorado.
Game Notes: If Alfredo Simon and Aaron Harang keep this up and eventually face each other, the world will implode.
Game Notes: Apparently some guy hit his 500th homer in this series last night. No one said anything about that in the game notes, because he doesn't watch the softball league.
Game Notes: Your OMNICHATTER matchup of the day.
Game Notes: "Rienzo will be making his first start of the season. In 10 starts last season, his rookie season, Rienzo went 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA."
Game Notes: Your OMNICHATTER anti-matchup of the day. Fans of the offense might want to tune in here.
Game Notes: Another really strong matchup.
Game Notes: "[Cole Hamels] has been on the disabled list because of left biceps tendinitis, but he is set to make his season debut against Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke... Hamels is 3-0 with a 2.22 ERA in four career starts at Dodger Stadium, including two postseason starts, although he has not pitched here since the 2009 National League Championship Series. But he also is 1-4 with a 9.55 ERA (23 earned runs in 21 2/3 innings) in his first start of the season over the past five years."
There was a good one last night: Madison Bumgarner went the distance for the Giants, striking out 6 and walking just one, although he coughed up two solo homers. Franklin Morales went seven for the Rockies, allowing one run, striking out 7 and walking one.
Please do not get swept by the Astros.
Craig Biggio would be proud of how little effort Uggla used to dodge that pitch.
2014 baseball. Catch the Fever!
There have been 26 such streaks since 1916. However, only 6 of those pitchers also managed to average over one strikeout per inning (as Harang has--40 Ks in 37.2 innings). Those 6 pitchers are:
Felix Hernandez (two separate streaks, one in 2013 and one in 2010)
Troy Tulowitzki on the road this year: .229/.349/.343, 0 homers, 2 RBI.
Did the Braves do something with Harang? Did he do something different himself?
I'm a Yankee fan but McCann is a dick.
The runner on first, Brian "The Right Stuff" McCann peeled off and started heading for the dugout before even going to second base.
Road stats remain unchanged.
The on-going hatred of Brian McCann is a reason to assume Millenials are idiots.
Only to be trumped by the moronic assumption that I am a milennial.
So who thinks this Charlie Blackmon is real?
Rockies and Giants are now 7-7 in the seventh, and Matt Cain is still in there flingin'.
Just ugly stuff, and worst of all, Samardzija is denied his first win of the season after going 7.1 of two-run ball.
Looks like Sam will get his 12-10 Coors game today.
How do you get ejected for pine tar?

I predict that Michael Pineda will be the most photographed pitcher of the year tonight.
Orsillo and Remy agreed with the call
Pine tar on his neck. Suspension coming, right?
