Primer’s own Mr. Megdal takes a break from his contractually obligated ball-busting of the Wilpons to point out that Serious You Guys, the Orioles really are a pretty solid team now:

Roberts, Markakis and those couple of good Melvin Mora seasons were the only highlights of those dreadful O's teams. I don't know what kind of message boards Melewski frequents but I doubt these are true Oriole fans commenting. Probably bored Ravens fans passing time until the draft and other trolls.

Brian Roberts has given the Orioles a lot of great seasons (remember when it was a tough choice whether to go forward with Roberts or Jerry Hairston, Jr. as the starting 2b?) and I like him a lot. But I do think there's some frustration associated to the fact that Roberts has never been the same player since he hit himself in the head with his own bat in frustration after a strikeout and gave himself a concussion.

Hanging out on BTF all the time, I feel like I'm in a baseball news bubble. I had no idea Brian Roberts was being criticized. He's played so seldom the past three seasons I keep forgetting he's even active.
