The other primary situation in which Nvidia is preferable is when you do a lot of high end graphic modeling/graphic design. High end tools of this nature (and the most popular Adobe stuff) can utilized CUDA in the Nvidia chips (which is Nvidia only) and do stuff of that type faster than the AMD.
just get civ 2 Greg. Problem solved...
It took mainstream 3D a decade to not suckas you had all sorts of 3D APIs jumbled around and lots and lots of legacy PCs that couldn't do much with those games. And we're kind of at a standstill period in mainstream CPU power - a Haswell CPU really isn't *that* much better than a Nehalem or Sandy Bridge CPU of the same market segment and people are still getting a lot of use out of Core 2 Quads.
If you're into a Paradox game, what with the generally steep learning curve, you're ineligible to be in the moron category.
Perhaps. Hell, given I have a complete inability to tune out irrelevant sound (I will tend to wear small earplugs whenever I'm going to be in a crowd so that I'm not simultaneously listening to 30 conservations) I'm probably on there somewhere.
Still running an ancient i7 Bloomfield CPU in my gaming desktop.
Also, I have a Crusader Kings II from a Humble Bundle (already had it). First one to hit me up on Steam (DSzymborski) gets it.
Team Fortress 2, 1314.
I have not, so it's yours when you're online. I tend to leave Steam on, so even if it says I'm Online, I may not actually be at the PC.
[Side Note] For local multi-player console fans (this is dire for my regular FIFA Friday), Microsoft confirmed a 4v4 possibility on Xbox One while PS4 has regressed back to 2v2.
Are you sure about this? PS3 supports up to 8 controllers. It would be a very bizarre decision for them to limit the PS4 to 2.
Football Manager 2013, 576 hours.
Of course, 30% of that is leaving it on in the background.
Yup. I am almost certain that the PS3 never supported 8 controllers, but it DID support, oddly, 7 controllers. This meant 3 on 3 FIFA.
I can't find the tweet at the moment, but Sony US said PS4 would only support 4 controllers. Could be wrong. Social Media editors don't know ####. Normally I'd disregard something I can't find quickly, but I was pointed to it by a current PS4 developer, who is a giant Sony fanboy as is.
Gave me a nice idea for a topic though. What's yer worst playtime on Steam? I've got 215hrs on Civ 5. Attempting to beat the CPU on Deity has given me shize..
And, oh, yes ... FM 2010 -- 6,494
Only 3506 hours until you're any good at it!... At least I think that's how that rule goes.
The current humble bundle is killer. Faster Than Light and Mark of the Ninja are both great, tightly designed games. FTL especially is a masterpiece. Definitely worth $5, and I've heard good things about Fez as well.
Do religions persist when their founding civilization is eliminated? I'm about to clean out these Persian rat bastards, and I'd like their shitty religion off my back.
Also, these are game-heavy builds.
you can win with almost any ship if you're lucky enough to find a couple burst laser IIs.
So presumably a religion's Holy City will continue putting out its "religious pressure" on surrounding cities after it has been conquered.
The religion persists and continues to generate pressure. But it no longer appears in the religions tab, so I can't tell what beliefs it has or where it has taken root.
Yes, they went with the worst possible solution. The religion persists and continues to generate pressure. But it no longer appears in the religions tab, so I can't tell what beliefs it has or where it has taken root.
The other weird thing in that game is I somehow ended up insanely behind on tech, like two full tiers behind the leading civ. I've never had that happen in civ5 and I have no idea how it did.
What difficulty are you playing on?
Also, did you build the national college and the science buildings (library, university, public school, research lab)? And were you working the specialist slots in the post-university science buildings, at least in your capital and other major cities?
Perfect build for home office, anger, and masturbation, and the APU is good enough to do light gaming
Well they must have changed something about how science works in G&K 'cause it happened again, where the leading civ hit the info age before I hit the modern age. It's not stealing techs, is it? Time to read the manual I guess.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I was playing as Austria.
