But yeah, Zimmer. My favorite Zimmer story (and I'm not sure where I read this anymore) was from the 1989 NLCS, where fans sitting behind the Cubs' dugout said they wished they had a strong enough magnet to latch onto Zimmer's head plate and pull him out of the dugout to change pitchers.

This story would have been better if Arlin had proceeded to gut Zimmer like a fish.

Wow, Arlin had 122 walks in 1972, in 250 innings. Seems like a lot, but the BB-ref leaderboard is glutted with pre 1900 seasons.

Not just with two outs, but with two strikes. You're going to play in to guard against someone bunting for a hit with two strikes?

By the way, Arlin also threw a one-hitter against the Giants that summer, and pitched ten innings of one-hit ball against the Mets, but got no decision.

It amazes me, and not in a good way, that I'm pretty sure I know the names of the pitchers who threw the last three no-hitters on that list. It looks like Tom Browning's perfect game, Juan Nieves no-hitter during the Brewers season-opening 13-0 streak, and Len Barker's perfect game. Right?

Bogusevic just saved Cain's ass for him right there. If he hadn't backed away from that it would've hit him.

Wow, that last ball ate up Arias a bit and then it didn't look like he had his feet all the way set when he made the throw. Right on target, though. Congrats to Cain, awesome stuff.
