I had thought about that right as I punched the Submit button, but I was thinking positively at the time. Now with the Yanks leading the Twinkies 6-0 and the Orioles rolling over quietly that third outcome seems inevitable. I hope to awake tomorrow to better news.

A high school friend and I once took the bus from DC to Baltimore for consecutive twi-night and day-night doubleheaders back in 1962, long before I-95 connected the two cities. Being total Yankee fans, we were totally not thrilled when the Orioles swept all four games and then added a fifth on Sunday afternoon. The only consolation is that we snuck into the Saturday night game, although the walk-off ending kind of ruined the occasion, bringing my Yankee record in Memorial Stadium to an embarrassing 1 and 6.
