Four days left in the season and not a single AL team has so far clinched a playoff spot. Has that ever happened in the division era?
Tampa's still in it too, right? What kind of scenarios do they need to make the playoffs?
I can't formulate a scenario where LAA and TB can remain competitive for a playoff spot and have other teams end up tied at the end of the season.
Texas playing Oakland ruins it for LAA, while TB playing Baltimore means that they'd have to knock them out to get a chance.
My favorite aspect of yesterday's critical game between the Red Sox and Orioles: the guy who started at DH for the Orioles has a slash line of .183/.256/.352, and the guy who started at DH for the Red Sox is at .161/.215/.255. With "designated hitters" like that, they may as well have just let the pitchers hit!
I have a joke about a Dolly Parton bust almost ready to go here, but ###### if I'm not too stressed myself to form it properly.....
Risky, but I'm rooting for the Angels now.
The Angel season finally, mercifully ended just now.
With the A's playing the Rangers tomorrow one of them has to clinch a spot, correct? Whoever wins would clinch at least the second wild card.
The Rangers are falling apart like the wonderful one-hoss shay.
