I have not been following his saga. Can someone explain what is the status of his knee or whatever it was that was ailing him last year? I thought it was something degenerative but then he sort of came back the second half. What's the prognosis on that?
Chase Utley is becoming the new Nick Johnson. This player will now self-destruct in 5 seconds. Good luck, Chase.
How close is Utley to the HOF already? He's currently 20th in WAR among 2nd baseman. Another 5 WAR (which is basically just a full season) and he's 15th and pretty much on the borderline, with bonus points for a ridiculous peak. Could he get in with less than 7000 PA?
Looks like his career will be comparable with Joe Gordon's, who is a HOFer through the vets committee.
also, for as great as chase utley has been, it's jimmy rollins who holds two all-time single-season MLB records.
but he also has an MVP
Yes, an MVP that should have gone to Utley
Yes, an MVP that should have gone to Utley(Howard's MVP should also have gone to Utley).
