The Reds’ honorary bat boy last night was Teddy Kremer, who has Down syndrome and a wealth of enthusiasm for the team. He asked Frazier to hit a home run for him before the third baseman stepped to the plate in the sixth, the Reds already up on the Marlins 9-1. So Frazier did. Simple, right?

Great minds think alike, Andy ... and then there's the two of us.
Not sure why I have to show it. Cardinals by Zips project to have the best offense in the NL if healthy. (and that is with not including Craig as a starter and the ridiculous 98 ops+ projection for Freese) With Carpenter in the rotation the rotation is slightly above average, the pen is above that. Obviously the Phillies have a better rotation, and the Braves a better pen, but I don't see what is all that controversial about saying the team is stacked with talent.
Because fan-boy assumption doesn't pass muster.
What team in the NL is better talent wise? The Phillies might be close and that is about it. Cardinals of course have health/age concerns that will keep their record down, but talent they are just fine.
Anyway. Let's see, the best catcher in the NL last year, three of the top ten ops+ players in the NL, a third baseman with a career 116 ops+, Furcal who averages close to 3.0 war per 162 games played for his career, a 110 ops+ centerfielder, Allen Craig who doesn't even make the starting lineup with a projected 112 ops+, Add in Wainwright, Carpenter, and Garcia who every season posts a better era+ than Kimbrel did over a similar number of innings. When the weakest projected starter is Descalso and his 1.6 war, that is a pretty talented team.
We are talking of the starting 8, 5 have made the all star game in the past two seasons. Along with 2 of the 5 starting pitcher...superficially, that's a very talented team.
