The headline is a lot more emphatic than the content. First line of the St. Louis Paragraph:
They have the best projected team by a hair
By a hair ? Yes....projecting 87 wins vs. 85 wins is by a hair. In "projection speak" perhaps the headline should be "NL Central Too close to call".
Editors note: I went into a coma on August 11 and just woke up today - I assume the Cards ran away with the division after sweeping the Reds just as Bernie Miklasz claimed they would.

If the writer has a Z in their name after an S then they are never wrong so yes the Cardinals won the division last year and will win it again this year.
I imagine the Cardinals, even with Lohse pitching, has the best rotation in the NL Central, have one of the strongest heart of the orders in baseball(and yes I think Colby is going to blow his zips away) and has a chance of being a dangerous team, of course the best thing that could happen is for Theriot to get a season ending injury in spring training, and for Descalso to tear the snot out of the ball in spring training earning a major league job.
Too many people are focusing on the negatives, the lack of fielding in right, short and second, and instead of worrying about the fact that all the teams are flawed and that we should have a strong chance of winning the division.

Pretty much every fan of every team in the NL Central is saying the exact same thing.

and the west, and the al west, and the al central. outside of the Phillies I don't think there is any team without some major flaw.

That leaves them without a SS unless you're giving that job to Greene.

Booooo!!! Coupon code has reached maximum numbers...
I've never been a huge fan of ESPN the magazine, but every now and then there is an Insider article I want to read on the site. For $2.99, that would've been worth it. Oh well.

As I said in the Brewers thread, I'd love to be convinced that the Cardinals will actually do more than I think they will in 2011.
This doesn't convince me.

And the Headline link from the main page is even more emphatic:
