Jackson is the town where the AA affiliate plays. That's the team ERA of 3.37 which lead the league. It's a team, depth achievement because all of the prospects played there, not an individual one.

Lol, yes, Jackson, TN. I knew that, but it threw even me off. I really should make the 1 1/2 hour drive there sometime this summer to check them out. Lot of good prospects heading through there.

Edit: Make that 2 hour drive. Still, I should make it.

The ex-gf who most memorably tore out my heart & stomped that sucker flat lived outside of & went to school in Jackson, I think. And I also think it's the place where (before she & I got together) I left my wallet in a convenience store restroom while riding from Little Rock to Nashville to see Yo La Tengo with Lampchop opening, circa 2000. Got the wallet back -- luckily, I somehow still had the receipt for whatever coke &/or snack I bought there & was able to call them from the hotel after I put 2 + 2 together -- albeit minus the $200 or so I'd been carrying. Had to borrow a fiver from my driver (hey, that rhymes!) so I could afford the Fur Bible 12" at Great Escapes, embarrassingly enough.

In short, my impression of Jackson is not overwhelmingly positive.

Is that really a relevent gauge of anything? I mean, if they had a few non-prospects stink up the joint and blow the team ERA to 4.00, that really wouldn't say anything about the guys who have a chance at the bigs.

ironically, it was #2 on the list, walker, who actually stunk up the joint with a 4.69 ERA in 127 ip...

"West Tenn" changed its name to "Jackson"? That's confusing. I would not have guessed the "Jackson" team in the Southern League could be somewhere other than Mississippi.
