Tampa Bay’s star baseball prospect, heralded in the top five of any national ranking you will find, is officially on his way to the Rays roster. Five games back in the AL East, the Rays will play three games in Boston and four games in New York in the coming week, starting with a double header on Tuesday.

That brings the Rays up to 1373 strikeouts for the season, they were already in second place all time but unless they manage to strike out 31 batters tomorrow they’ll fall short of the 2003 Cubs.

Huh? The Brewers have 1,396. They could get it done tonight, although Gallardo was scratched. (They need eight to tie.)

I had no idea that the Brewers had a high total this year, I had only seen stories about the Rays (who broke the AL record recently).
