    Has an All-Star ever been released three months later? Mike Williams was a free agent after his disastrous All-Star season (and never pitched in the big leagues again). Mark Redman was allowed to leave via FA. Mike Sharperson spent another year in LA after his All-Star season (although mostly in the minors).

    Dave Nilsson went to Japan immediately after his All-Star season. But he was a FA.

    Ken Harvey was released one year after his All-Star season. In that year he played 12 games for the Royals. That was his last season.

    I'm guessing this is the first time it's ever happened to a HITTER. It's probably happened to one of those random middle relievers who gets chosen for no reason (Lance Carter etc).
