Posnanski's continued Royals coverage makes me wonder if he really wishes he'd just stayed at the Star.
What kind of stupid #### might Moore do next season in a desperate run for the playoffs to keep that trade from being a colossal failure?
Moore's also gotten unlucky as all of the guys who were supposed to be good or at least decent have busted.
has to be a reason that some teams continually get good performances out of scrap heap pickups/lesser prospects and have their young players meet expectations in the majors while some teams never seem to catch a break.
At some point repeated failure becomes more than can be explained by bad luck.
George Brett, too??
OK, I kinda looked it up I don't know who's hurt and who's not but the Royals potentially had:
Cain, Getz, Frenchy, Tejada, Kottaras, Adam Moore ... I don't think I missed anybody. Obviously they're not carrying 15 position players so I'm guessing Cain is hurt and at least one of Kottaras/Moore is not on the 25-man? If that's right, the only hitter here demonstrably better than Escobar is Tejada. Of course you only need one.
I hate to point this out but ... if Escobar is batting 9th, doesn't the game end before you even get to Gordon?
