Let’s discuss bunting
Let's also get this out of the way: I am generally not a fan of [sacrifice] bunting. I believe that, in the American League, you should seldom bunt early in the game.
That the writer doesn't apply the same dictum to NL games indicates that, lo and behold, he is generally a fan of bunting.
I never really thought about this before, but "Zero-Tolerance Policy" as a phrase is pretty diabolical. It frames the opposition as clearly "tolerating" crime (which is what it's most used for). Who could openly support that?
I oppose any and all zero-tolerance policies.
You have zero tolerance for zero tolerance?
Or that he has no problem with pitchers bunting at any point in the game, which is thoroughly sensible.
A politician in a campaign ad saying, "Let's not lock up criminals forever" would be savaged, SAVAGED.
