    This month is all about World Cup Qualification.

    June 7th: Jamaica v USA
    June 11th: USA v Panama
    June 18th USA v Honduras

    Some other key dates:

    June 4th: Jamaica v Mexico qualifier and AFC qualifiers (Japan v Australia being the key game)
    June 7th: Full slate of CONMEBOL AND UEFA qualifiers (Portugal hosts Russia in a do or die game for Portugal)
    June 8th: Full slate of CAF qualifiers and the final day of Segunda featuring what could be a relegation playoff match between Villareal and ...

    The Chelsea keeper grabbed the ball with his hands and stepped out of the box - but held the ball over the box area. I always thought that was a hand-ball. Did that rule change or was the rule always about the ball and not the player?

    The fact that Rafa played a full squad then let Mata and Hazard play a full 90 in a FA Cup match while starting Marin vs QPR should dispel all notions that the man knows what he's doing.

    Also, brutal RVP goal. West Ham deserved the win, though Carlton Cole one-footedness haunted him again right before RVP's goal.

    Why? I think it makes perfect sense. The reality is that Chelsea should have handled QPR easily if Rafa himself had played 90 minutes against QPR and game in hand or no their best shot at a meaningful trophy probably is the FA Cup.

    I think you can certainly make a case that with the sizable lead that someone like Cahill or Hazard should have come off (according to the game report Mata came off at 79 minutes) but Torres and Lampard got rests (Lampard's half hour was presumably not overly taxing with a 4-1 lead when he came on).

    Its amazing how much Chelsea is reliant on Mata. With all the money and talent, they shouldn't need their best 11 to beat QPR. In fact that out of the 22 that started on the field for that game, would you take any QPR player over any Chelsea player? Taraabt over Marin. Maybe Julio Cesar because Cech was hurt and Turnbull was playing.

    Edit: I do agree that you take Mata off at 60 minutes.

    Arsenal really should be winning now--they've been all over Swansea the entire half but they're getting the yips in the box.

    They're likes college basketball team that goes to the sweet sixteen every year but never wins it. They never go out early in the FA Cup and they've made the knockout stage of the CL for a decade now but that's it. They're Gonzaga.

    Swansea have just capitulated. The psychology of a game of soccer is fascinating. It's almost like that Michu goal was the worst thing that could have happened to Swansea.

    The entire second half Shooty. The goal was against the run of play. Whatever happened at the respective halftime talks Arsenal have been superior since the second period began. If this were ManU we would her a lot about the Ferguson hair dryer but I think Wenger deserves a lot of credit here.
