    Bryce Harper was one of the many Nationals stars to shine his light on NatsFest Saturday and pay a visit to 106.7 The Fan’s Holden and Danny, where he shared the very enviable stories of being able to exchange words, and memorabilia, with some baseball legends.

    Lillian “Lil” Labash married Stan Musial on May 25, 1940. Stan Musial was
    playing Class D minor league baseball at the time.

    Good talent evaluator. My condolences to the Musial family.

    One of the happiest marriages on record, from all reports. One knows everything has to end, but one hates to see confirmation.

    I hate to be the first to say it, but its pretty likely that Stan himself will be departing sooner than later. These happy old couples always seem die within months of each other. I guess it would really depend on Stan's health and his other personal relationships, but many times a man in his situation simply loses the will to live, and there is nothing wrong with that when you're in your 90's.

    It will be a sad day for baseball when Stan goes. Lately, some extra good things have come out about him that show a sterling character(especially the stories about his support of fellow Black players). I hope he gets to make his departure with the least amount of hurt and misery. Lately, I've been a witness to a number of friends and acquaintenances who have left in a horrible piece by piece process over a long miserable time. I hope he dodges that bullet.

    My grandparents were married for 60 years. Grandmother died after a long and typically agonizing battle with Alzheimer's. What does Grandpa do? Starts dating multiple women at once, and within a couple years he's married for a second time.

    So who will be the last survivor from the 1946 World Series? Remarkably (it seems to me) there are still six, three from each team, alive from the World Series 66 years ago: Musial, Garagiola and Schoendienst from the Cardinals; Pesky, Doerr and Ferriss from the Red Sox. Two others, D. DiMaggio and Marty Marion, lived into their 90s.

    Impressive, considering there were only two players from the first modern World Series in 1903 who made it until 1969 (Tommy Leach and Freddy Parent)...
