I think it's an interesting topic and concern, but I still wish writers weren't trying to scare us at every turn. The portrayal of the scout and trainer say a lot to me. It's still perfectly ok for a scout to make unsubstantiated claims when a guy has a hot month. When the trainer wont agree with Verducci, well obviously there's something underhanded going on here.

I say in-game blood tests of all players on the active roster after every pitch. It's the only way to be sure.

This is completely and totally reasonable. The proper approach for MLB towards PED usage should consider that the very appearance of impropriety has a significant, negative effect on attitudes towards the game. Keep testing as ahead of the curve as reasonably possible.
