No, as in, games that ended 4-2 after the first two batters of the bottom of the 9th were out, then the next guy had a single, and then there was a double, and THEN the final batter struck out.
The writers couldn't look up the game log to one game? Or better, they couldn't choose a sport that plays games during the winter?
Actually, I found the explanation for why the game situation was the way it was fairly understandable.

I realize that's dialed up about 9000x for TV.
In episode 2F09 when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
Oh yes, I'm really old and I watch CBS all the time....CSI, Criminal Minds, CSI:NY, Elementary, Big Bang Theory....

Me three. I gave up on HIMYM years ago; not only do I not care who Ted's kids' mother is, I expect in the final episode he'll simply say, "Actually, you have no mother, kids. I grew both of you in a test tube, 'cuz we can do that in the future!" Then they kill the SOB. The end.
