There's 110 pitches in a game? Am I failing at statistics somehow?
I still think setting up behind the pitcher would immensely improve matters
What is the second most frequently missed call? My guess is that it would be check swings. There are a fair amount of those calls to make in a game.
Absolutely right, and moreover it shouldn't be the managers' responsibility to get the calls as correct as reasonably possible. It should be the league's. Challenges are the dumbest way to institute replay.
What would be the type of umpire call that would be made incorrectly the most often? How about the highest percentage of the time?
If someone asked me the worst way to set up a replay system, the two biggest mistakes to make 1. Challenge system 2. System that is reviewed by the umpires on the field.
I think the problem people have is thinking replay is designed to fix ALL wrong calls. It's not, and it shouldn't be even an attempt to go for perfection. Replay should be used to fix obvious mistakes
