But does he know the lyrics to ” Let’s Go to the Mall” or the “Beaver Song”?
“LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - How many national teams can boast having a suitable replacement for an MVP winner?

The Red Sox would like to offer Ted Williams's head $14M a year.
Fantastic.
Erick Aybar gets hosed on a 1-1 pitch, announcers note that 1-2 or 2-1 is the biggest flip on success rates, man on 3rd with 1 out in a tie game, Kimbrel did not allow a single sac fly last year, Aybar isn't a slugger, he's doomed and - a line single for the lead.
this after he batted for the only batter in the game with no MLB ABs. then Reyes, we're told, is a ridiculous 5 for 6 againat Kimbrel - and singles to knock in an insurance run. and the crowd and dugout goes wild.
I'm ready for the regular season now!
:)
This was one of the best games, but they've had a LOT of excellent games over the first three tournaments. Just this year The Cuba/Netherlands win or go home game was simply gangbusters, but lacked the massive crowd this one had. The Japan/Taiwan game was also friggin' amazing and had a similarly gonzo crowd.
I really wish I could force people who talk as if the players and fans don't care about the result to watch some of the tensest games, it's pretty much impossible to watch and still make that statement.
Also, how great is it that we are gonna get either a DR vs. HONKBAL rematch or a DR vs. Japan epic clash in the semis...
Uh, what good could happen? The closer can't win anything. All he can do is keep it tied.
And selection bias - nobody notices if he does keep it tied since then the glory goes to the eventual game winning hit.
