I'll take it, but 24 games over .500 with over 2000 played is not much of an earth shattering difference.
Honestly I'm haveing a bit of trouble telling if this is tounge in cheek...
The closest Bill Plaschke gets to doing anything tongue in cheek is if perhaps his tongue grazes his cheek as his fumbles over his words during his rants on Around the Horn.

Looks like the Giants have won 32 more games in the 15 seasons since the O'Malley's sold. There's certainly been more stability recently in San Francisco. That would probably bother Plaschke even more, though.
It comes as no surprise that Bill Plashke doesn't like garlic.

Is this the second FA today on how the Giants have surpassed some other long-established franchise at doing something good? I wonder why we're seeing all these deep thoughts this week :)

Become? The Giants became a better franchise than the Dodgers pretty much from the moment Barry Bonds said "I sign on this dotted line, correct?"

I hate it when Bill Plashke's right about anything, but the Giants' fundamental superiority to the Dodgers is pretty well unmistakable.
He did, however, omit the key reason why the Giants are better than the Dodgers: morality. The Giants are the embodiment of all that is good in the world, paragons of virtue and light. The Dodgers, of course, are pure evil.

Wait a second, that doesn't even make sense. Freaking humor swirling the wrong way around in the southern hemisphere, grrr.
