Read More...What started off as a wonderful tradition and homage to breast cancer survivors everywhere, the use of pink bats on Mother’s Day, has turned into another ugly example of corporate greed. Hopefully sometime between now and Sunday, Major League Baseball and Louisville Slugger will realize there are few greater sins than monetizing disease, and fix that.
Baltimore outfielder Nick Markakis and Minnesota third baseman Trevor Plouffe, both of whose mothers are breast cancer survivors, received ...

A couple I couldn't find in gif form are the Phillie fan whose daughter threw the foul ball back from the upper deck and the Beltre-like death glare a Japanese woman gave her husband when he dropped their child while pursuing a foul ball.
There have to be more than these.
On Olde Primer, Mike Piazza would certainly have made an appearance by now. Not that there is anything . . .
Also, I had not seen either of those plays - wow. Brandon Phillips really is amazing in his own way. Watching the 2nd replay in the video linked in [1], look what he does with the ball - he dives up the middle, backhands the grounder, then while laying prone, flips the ball out of his glove and like... shotputs it with his palm out of midair to get it to Cozart. Who does that??
It was worth posting twice though.

How did the umps rule on this? Or was the runner out at first anyway? On the Sandoval play, it appears they made the right call.
And how did the shortstop react? Few people are going to pick a fight with Sandoval, but I don't think they'd have the same reservations about Figgins.
Hot sauce on the field? Hot sauce on the field.

Not sure I want to know what is going on here.
And the Pelfrey balk always makes me crack up too. It's in the way ball plops gently out of his glove, and then his head sharply jerks down to look at it a second later.

I can't even tell if that gif is in reverse or forward motion. Neither makes any sense.
You must mean reverse angle; it has to be in forward motion otherwise he's somersalting UP the baseline.
I remember watching that balk live. Somehow it was less funny at the time.
Reverse as in, he was on the plate, then somersaulted over the catcher. Otherwise he would have been scoring from 1st.
