So now Andy Pettitte is a “potential Hall of Famer”. Awesome! Amazing!

... the coming back after being gone a year ...
Mark this down friends: Andy Pettitte's HOF case will be helped, not hurt, by his PED situation
occasional misguided columnist love.
More wins than Jack Morris, 19-11 in the post season would be more than enough to get in by old writer standards. Despite playing in the Steroid Era his ERA is also lower than Morris'. Of course, he also used PED's thus could be kept out by the moralizers.
Pettitte is a marginal HOF'er by regular season standards but add in the playoffs, the coming back after being gone a year, the role as a key player on one of the great dynasties and he'd be a lock without the PED issue.
Mark this down friends: Andy Pettitte's HOF case will be helped, not hurt, by his PED situation. Few, if any, will keep him out for it. Some will probably give him the nod as the 'guy who handled it the right way.'
Why is this relevant? To the very, very, very, very limited degree it is, I'd think this is a tiny negative showing a lack of passion for the game and/or quitting on his team.
We all know that Pettitte broke the rules, just like we know that Bonds, Clemens, Braun, A-Rod and countless others have, too.

just like we know that Bonds, Clemens, Braun, A-Rod and countless others have, too.
Except that he didn't.
Of those, Clemens and Bonds didn't, Braun did, ARod might have.
So, like, MLB is immune from the nations laws. Interesting perspective, coming from a lawyer.
“I want to make sure that this is exactly what God wants me to do,” Pettitte said.
What nonsense, Bob. The issue of religion has nothing do with the perception of Pettitte in regards to the PED issue. You really should stop making these connections up out of thin air.
Not everything has to do with the issue of players' rights, either, despite your efforts to conjure that up at every turn.
One month before the start of Spring Training, one of my best friends found out he had cancer.
The Lord planted me in Houston to be there for him and his family.
There is an anti-Christian agenda that is showing quite clearly here.
I think that's unfair. It's anti-religion.
