Billy Sample is producing an independent film on high school sports.
Wade Boggs recently starred in a SyFy flick about a giant shark swimming through the rivers of Louisiana. You've got to love horror!
Was it "Sharktopus?" I hope the film incorporated Wade drinking 26 beers on a transcontinental fligh
looks abysmal but worth watching for the camp value

But filming "Gravedigger" without Richie Hebner?
Or Billy O'Dell?

From an article on Billy Sample's current career in being a movie producer:
He not only played baseball for Andrew Lewis High School, which is now a middle school, but also played for the 1971 Andrew Lewis football team that made it to the state title game against T.C. Williams of "Remember the Titans" fame.
And Billy has an IMDB page.

Sounds like for SyFy, picking the name of the movie is half the battle. Arachnoquake is a great name.
As SyFy movies go, Swamp Shark is actually not that bad. Boggs puts on a thick Cajun accent for his role, while some fairly decent actors (Robert Davi and DB Sweeney) star in the film.
It's no Rosemary's Baby or Bride of Frankenstein, but as TV horror goes, it's acceptable.

I doubt it. SyFy makes dozens of these per year, there's not necessarily any creativity involved and the "unintentional humor" is entirely self-aware. The only reason to watch one is if you're curious about one of the actors.
Yes - I used to work for someone who was very good friends with a guy who made a couple dozen of these SyFy movies. I was told the general formula goes something like:
1. Pick a big-budget movie with a concpet that is easily ripped off
2. Come up with a name reminiscent (but not actionably so) of the aforementioned blockbuster
3. Hack together a (non-binding) script for pennies
4. Hire a guy and send him somewhere with a few tens of thousands of dollars to make your movie
5. Show it on SyFy (and streamable on NetFlix, usually)
...?
7. Profit!

I think I'll wait for Werepanzer
How has this movie not been made??

I believe that we had a thread on the studio that makes a lot of these at one point...

Somone once linked the Sharktopus trailer here; it was awesome. Eric Roberts is in it.

They don't even do that most of the time. That's Asylum Films's formula. None of the "Snakes on a Train", "Transmorphers", "The Day the Earth Stopped", "Paranormal Entity" type things are from SyFy.
SyFy just come up with a title that makes it clear what the movie's about, and ask somebody to write a generic script, and film it in Los Angeles County or Vancouver or Bulgaria.
List of SyFy original films. I don't immediately recognize any of those titles as attempted "mockbusters", in fact. Maybe "Descent" (as opposed to "The Descent"), though that was way back in 2005. And "Mothman", released 8 years after "The Mothman Prophecies". Instead, they have a bunch of officially licensed horrible sequels.
Asylum's gotten a little weird the last couple of years. I've caught Christian messages in several of their last few movies that I've seen (including, just a couple of days ago, Rise of the Zombies); nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but it's certainly not part of their obvious formula, or at least didn't used to be.

They've made a few overtly Christian films, and I believe that those have been very profitable.

Boggs has a speaking line at 1:06 of the imdb trailer.
Looks like the typical cheesy horror movie, but I'm kind of shocked at how bad the graphics look for this day and age.
Was it "Sharktopus?" I hope the film incorporated Wade drinking 26 beers on a transcontinental flight.
Boggs has also appeared in a baseball-themed episode of Psych (alongside Danny Glover as minor league coaches). And yes, they did reference the 64 beers legend.
I'm also surprised it took so long for someone to make the joke in #32.
I was looking up the guy who played Parker Lewis and it turns out he was recently injured on the set of Poseidon Rex. Apparently the producers were selling it based on the poster alone.

That would be a short film.
Please, please tell me he gets eaten by zombies.

"Feed it chicken! Feed it chicken! Trust me."
His dad Hal was a manager, not Brian. Hal already starred in this famous movie, which provided horror for local sportswriters.
Screen shot of Wade Boggs in "Swamp Shark."
D-oh!
Or Billy O'Dell?

Together with Sharktopus I think I'm onto their formula.
I think I'll wait for Werepanzer and Cyberricane.
It's no Rosemary's Baby or Bride of Frankenstein, but as TV horror goes, it's acceptable.
And Hal gave us one of the best post-game tirades ever captured on video.
Only half? Having seen Zombie Apocalypse*, I can assure you that there was at least 5X more effort put into title generation than the script.
* Featuring zombie tigers.
Mansquito!
Piranhaconda!

They usually have some good eye candy too.
You can't go wrong with a title like Dinocroc vs. Supergator.

I had no idea that public schools had a relegation system.
That's kind of cool.
And it had the most ridiculous ending I've ever seen in any movie!
Wait a second.
Doesn't being a "former Royal" mean you have appeared in a horror production?

"F*ck no..... but I've got a poster."
That's weird; I thought Parker Lewis can't lose.
