Why don't the Yankees just do what they did the last time they passed on Beltran, and sign Jaret Wright, Carl Pavano and Tony Womack instead?
I should have said collapse risk, either due to injury or rapid falloff in skills. Any 38 year old is a collapse risk compared to a 27 year old.
Beltran level defensive value is pretty close to nil these days, isn't it?
