Emeigh, I've read that Todd Frazier would need to move to 3b or the outfield eventually. Do you agree? And which position is more likely, given Cinci's situation? I'd think Frazier to 3b, Encarnacion to the OF makes all the sense in the world.

Cubs move Sam Fuld back down to Tennessee.

Yep. I think they'll probably keep him on SS as long as they can, but eventually I see him going to 3B.

Cardinals promote 1B Andrew Brown to Palm Beach, and add 19-YO Mexican OF Francisco Rivera to the Quad Cities roster.

The Cardinals also promoted P Mark McCormick from Palm Beach to Springfield, a move necessitated by the retirement of P Cory Rauschenberger, and also moved 1B Steven Hill (a 13th rounder a year ago) up from the FSL to the TL. And in another blow to the Van Slyke family, OF A.J. was demoted from Springfield to Palm Beach.

Sad about Wahpepah. I had some hopes for him because he's big (6'4) and was 18 when he was drafted with a fastball that supposedly touched 95 regularly.

DL’d OF Amaury Marti at Memphis. Marti, a Cuban defector who was drafted in the 18th round by the Cardinals in 2006, split 2007 between the Cards’ AA affiliate in Springfield and the Petroleros de Minatitlan of the Mexican League, hitting well in both places; he is 33, however, and isn’t likely to have much of a major league career.

Marti has gone back to Mexico on loan, this time to the Mexico Red Devils of Mexico City. Playing as Amaury Cazana, he has a 1.246 OPS through his first seven games.

Paz is probably the shortest player I've ever seen. Good to know that he's still kicking around.

I think the Reds made a roster move involving a minor league outfielder. I wonder if he's any good.

With Molina's injury, does Anderson get the call? He's hitting .398/.412/.810 at AAA, which is a pretty nice line, certainly better than any short-term guy the Cards could get.

Wahpepah should change his name, either to Wahpephaw in order to be a full-fledged palindrome, or to Pipsissewah.
