1. Mike Emeigh-- MWE
Ok, technically he's filling Bonifacio's roster spot, since Clark filled Upton's. Transaction logs at MLB.com were a bit confusing.

Colby Rasmus is going to miss a month with a knee injury. So much for trading him.

I know you're based out east, but is there any buzz at all around Matt Downs? He just went back to San Jose after a month-ish in Fresno where he wasn't that great in 80 ABs. And he's a bit old for the Cal League. But I wonder if anyone even thinks he can fill in on the infield in the majors someday?
Thanks.
Nope, other than a few Giants fans. He's done nothing but hit in the minors (even his time at Fresno wasn't awful) but he's not a particularly skilled defensive player - he's moved around the diamond a lot, seeing time at both corners as well as second and even sneaking in a few games at SS and in the OF. I don't know where he's going to play; I think if it were me I'd try him at 3B. He also should be at Connecticut, at this point; the infielders there are absolute non-prospects.

Escobar is still sidelined; no word that I can find on his return (Huntsville, unfortunately, has one of the generic MiLB.com Web sites which tells you nothing about the team or the players, and the Huntsville Times doesn't have anything online either). Yohannis Perez was promoted from Brevard County to take Michael Garciaparra's (DL) spot, and Jay Gibbons was moved up to Nashville. Donovan Hand was also DL'd by the Stars, with Ben Howard being demoted from the Sounds to take his slot. Michael Brantley is still on the DL, although he's expected to be activated in the next week or so.
The Dodgers released Mark Bellhorn, who had been playing at Jacksonville. The Indians did the same with Jason Tyner, who had been at Buffalo.
Cameron Maybin came off the DL last night. Maybin had been sidelined with a back injury.
Ricky Romero was promoted from New Hampshire to Syracuse. Tyler Greene, another 2005 first-rounder whose career has been disappointing so far, also got a bump to AAA, from Springfield to Memphis, when the Cardinals called up Nick Stavinoha.
Alan Horne came off the DL at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but couldn't find the strike zone and left after walking five in an inning-plus. Phil Humber, back in Rochester's starting rotation, fanned 10 in 7 2/3 innings for the win. Adam Everett is continuing his rehab assignment for the Red Wings after playing for the GCL Twins and for Ft. Myers.

Still junkballing or has he got some of his velocity back?
I saw him pitch twice when Rochester was here, and he was in the low 90s. Of course, that was out of the pen.
