First, thanks for continuing to do this, Mike.

Maybe I missed it, but I never saw Kurt Suzuki's deactivation so he could join USA baseball. He's at .285/.392/.415 for the season.
Also, BA has their new transactions up.

Midland was still listing him as active over the weekend, although I did catch Landon Powell's promotion from Stockton.

North Johnson, who was the GM at Kinston for many years before going out west to Rancho Cucamonga, is coming back to the Carolinas. He'll be taking over as GM at Myrtle Beach. The fan experience at Kinston while Johnson was there was one of the best I've experienced, and I'll be interested to see what (if any) changes he makes at Myrtle Beach, which has kind of stagnated over the past couple of years.

Charlotte captured the IL South title with a 3-2 win in game 2 of a doubleheader at Norfolk last night. The Knights had not made the postseason since 1999 and had not won a division title since 1993.

Travis Westerfeld. Guess his leave of absence will be extended now that he's been promoted to Jamestown.

With the GCL league season now complete, expect to see more transfers to the short-season and full-season teams.

Adam Miller finally in AAA, hopefully this gives hima chance to make the team in 2007, the Indians could use a power starter.

I'm not sure this wasn't just a one-shot. The Bisons had a suspended game completed last night, followed by the regular game, and they have no scheduled off-days for a while.

The Diamondbacks signed their second round pick Brett Anderson; he got $950K bonus, the second highest of any 2nd rounder (Wes Hodges received $1m from CLE).

Negotiations with Max Scherzer, the Dbacks first round pick, are ongoing.

BA and/or scout.com has info on the signings of Melancon, David Robertson, and Lars Anderson (latter pending a physical).

Not a roster move: Aberdeen's Danny Figueroa (former CF for Miami(FL) and once decent prospect who has been plagued by injuries) has been having a about-to-wash-out-of-baseball type season, but not tonight - he hit for the cycle with 6 RBI in what's currently a 17-5 game in the 7th inning.

Also not a roster move: check out the changes to milb.com's player pages! Here's a sample - splits galore. (Jeff, your stuff is still better.)

Yipes. Midland C Jed Morris has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Though a journeyman calibre pro, he was a heck of a hitter at Nebraska and comprised half of my all-time favorite collegiate battery (along with Shane Komine).

Sent P Shawn Nottingham (trade) to Kinston (Indians’ organization).

This completes the Broussard/Choo trade. Nottingham is from Canton, OH and was a 13th rounder for the Mariners in 2003. He's was hurt in '05 but has been healthy this year and has pitched better than his W/L record suggests - the Cal League is tough on guys who depend mostly on breaking stuff and changing speeds, and Inland Empire has had one of the weaker offenses in the Cal. He could be a sleeper for the Tribe.

So, let me get this straight, the indians got a future defensive whiz at ss, a starting rf with a two flapped helmet, and a good pitching prospect for a dh platoon. Sounds good to me :).

I share a hometown and high school with Nottingham...he immediately becomes my favorite Tribe farmhand. His splits and the things I've heard about his stuff suggest a possible future in LOOGYdom, but I'll be rooting for him.
