The idea of popping A-Rod for “distribution” requires an awful lot of magical thinking | HardballTalk
This is right in Craig Calcaterra’s wheelhouse.
I love Tulowitzki. With his contract, though, he’s a tough pickup for any GM. GMs get fired for being wrong on trades like this.
Dodgers aggressively shopping outfielder Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Carl Crawford, and are willing to eat cash, sources tell Ken Rosenthal | FOX Sports
Rosenthal says Puig is safe.
Despite last offseason’s results, expect Ervin Santana to reject qualifying offer again | FOX Sports
OK, where is Santana going to end up?
I realize there is pressure from Werner and Lucchino to placate the fans with a big free agent signing this off-season. I also agree that Sandoval would be a nice fit in the Red Sox lineup. David Laurila’s Sunday column on FanGraphs.com.
Nick Cafardo’s Boston Globe baseball column.
Farhan Zaidi gets it.
Cafardo makes a pretty good case for how Sandoval fits in Boston. Paying $20+ million for a guy who will probably need to DH for three years of his contract, though, might be tough to swallow in Boston.
MLB Network tweeted out a graphic with analysts’ free agent predictions. What is C.J. Nitkowski thinking predicted Russell Martin and Melkey Cabrera in Boston?
Unless another team goes nuts with an offer for Lester, he will end up back in Boston. Of course, it’s entirely within the realm of possibility that someone will.
