Former Major Leaguer Matt Lawton of Gulfport jailed with no bond

Former professional baseball player Matt Lawton of Gulfport is held with no bond in a pending court case involving an apparent family matter.

Lawton, 41, was arrested April 11 and remained in custody Thursday morning at the Harrison County jail.

He is held for an appearance in Harrison County Chancery Court in Gulfport. The case is sealed. The complaint was filed in a court division that handles family disputes, child support and child custody issues.
