Steinbog - Wacky Nats Dodgers Game In 19 Tweets

A fun recollection of fan reactions to the craziness that was the Nationals at Dodgers 14 inning topsy-turvy marathon yesterday.

If you watched Wednesday afternoon’s Dodgers-Nats marathon — which eventually became Wednesday evening’s Dodgers-Nats marathon, and then Wednesday night’s Dodgers-Nats marathon — you already know that it was one of this season’s wackiest games. The fact that it involved perhaps the National League’s two best teams — who might well be on a collision course for October — made it both wacky and compelling. The fact that it also included about 700 players, and multiple improbable comebacks, and one of the most memorable fans in recent Nats history, made it wacky, compelling, and unforgettable.

Cubs announce ‘Hipster Night’ at Wrigley Field – The Heckler

Let’s hope this never becomes an official event, especially when I visit next year.

New Trial in Sluggerr Hot Dog Lawsuit

BBTF, the go to site for Mascot Jurisprudence:

The Supreme Court ruled that the trial judge made an error by instructing jurors to decide whether the risk of injury from the hot dog toss was “an inherent risk” of watching a Royals baseball game. That was a question that the judge should have decided, according to Tuesday’s ruling.

The jury instead should have been asked to decide whether Sluggerrr injured Coomer by hitting him with a hot dog and whether that constituted negligence.

New Bob Uecker statue far from Miller Park’s front row

Executives from MillerCoors were on hand as well as a few generations of the Uecker family. To some of those family members, Uecker had a special thanks.

“Thank you very much for finally admitting I’m your father,” he said.
