Offensively, the Mariners appear to have replaced Justin Smoak.
Really? Coulda fooled me…
There’s really not a lot I can say about this trade. Vargas is the guy who would probably be most hurt by the change in dimensions in Seattle, and the Mariners have a lot of arms who will be ready soon if not now. Morales had no real role in Anaheim and certainly is better than what the Mariners had as options there. It doesn’t really hurt either team and probably doesn’t help either team much.
